Absolute Perfection

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

I got my cover for my July 24, 2008 release FOX’S BRIDE. It was my 2006 NaNo, I wrote it in 19 days. I am so proud of it.

And I absolutely love the cover. Croco did the cover and she did an excellent job, she … oh she far surpassed my expectations.

DUH Wylie reminded me the release date is JULY 24, 2008!!! So verra verra far away. I’ll post an excerpt soon!!

I am Fruity … in so many ways! :D

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I did this fun quiz, cause my current WIP is sucking my ability to write anything else coherently. I am running out of words.

I took the quiz What kind of Fruit are you? I’m bananas!! I’m sure you’re shocked aren’t you!! LOL!! What kind of fruit are you?

You Are a Banana

You are mellow, easy going, and a total softie on the inside.
People find it really easy to get along with you. You suit most tastes.

And while you’re very sweet, you’re not boring or ordinary.
You have an attraction to the exotic, and you could show up anywhere… doing almost anything!

You are spirited, energetic, and a total kick to be around.
You’re also quite funny. Your sense of humor is on the goofy side, and it fits you well.

What Type of Fruit Are You?

Working Hard

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

I have been working like a demon since I signed up for Christine D’abo’s Mid Winter Kick in the Pants. I started her kick in the pants with a word count of 743, I checked in this morning with 10,012 which is like 9269 words in a week. And I haven’t stopped. I can’t get these characters out of my head. This story speaks to me day and night. I have been working on it all day (between some work I had to do for the EDJ) and I am sitting at a word count of 12,000. I wrote 2k today.

And it’s weird because it’s a genre I don’t usually write. A futuristic romance. I don’t know exactly where it’s going but I have a feeling this book is going to be a long one, because I’m at 12k and the story really hasn’t really started. I mean its started but I have so much more to explore and because it’s a Sci Fi futuristic thing I have a lot of world building. I’m just going through the rough draft now. I’ll go back and fix inconsistencies later. If I do it now I’ll stall. I know I’ll stall.

Perseverance is everything at this point. So I’m going back to work. How was your weekend?

I got Roared

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

OMG I am thrilled, Bonnie gave me the Roar award. I am really flattered! I’m over the moon actually to be honored by such a vivacious fun gal, and talented writer such as Bonnie. :D

So as part of this I have to give three reasons why I keep a book. What keeps me hooked.

IMAGINATION
This is a biggy thing for me. I need something with a wide scope and DEEP imagination to keep me hooked. There’s just something in the voice of a writer that snags me. Allows my imagination to run wide and be transported to another place and time. It’s just as good as a movie, keeps me enthralled, occupied and glued to my seat for hours. Makes me live, breath think of the characters and stories.

EMOTION/FLAWS
I love characters with real emotions and flaws. I want to be able to feel what they feel, laugh, cry, passion. The character has to move me.

HERO / CHARACTERS
This is a big thing for me. The hero is usually what will keep me entranced in a Romance Novel. For other type of books it’s different characters. I like larger than life, flawed, scarred heros and characters.

I hope those made sense. All the good reasons were taken. Phooey. Now to pass this on. I hope I’m not passing it on to someone who has already been awarded.

Christine D’abo her scope of imagination is phenomenal. She can take me to places I never dreamed of. She makes me see movies in my head when I read her stuff. She’s also a dear friend, someone I felt like I’ve known for 20 years, but in reality have only known for just over a year. She’s always there for me, for a shoulder to cry on, to have a bitchfest, silly fest or Snoopy Dance with. She also writes HOT alien men!!! :D

Anna J. Evans She makes me LAUGH out loud when I read her Man Meat Mondays. Her books are so fantastically hot and funny. If you haven’t read her, do, cause now I’ve got to read everything she writes. Also she’s my co-conspirator in the MJ Travels. ;)

Leah Braemel This up and coming author has an extreme amount of talent. I know she’s going to make it big, and SOON!!! We met at our local chapter and I’m so glad that we reached out towards each other and became friends. :D

Susan Helen Gottfried at West of Mars I am just amazed by this woman’s scope of imagination for Shapeshifter and the following it has for not being published yet, and I constantly ask WHY ISN’T IT?????? Trevor and the Boys are real to me. I’m always checking out her blog to see what antics they’ve been up to, and her Roadie Poet on Poetry Monday is some of my favorite poetry now. :D

Heath Ledger is dead. He was found dead in an apartment in New York today around 3 p.m.

What a shame, I thought he was a brilliant actor.

Seven Random Things

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

I was tagged by Christine for this meme so here ya go.

1. I really don’t know how to work wordpress. I would like to add things to my sidebar but I am not the most technically challenged person. Sure according to Big Brain Academy my brain weighs of 1400 grams … still can’t figure out the whole computer thing yet.

2. I love Brussel Sprouts. Most vegetables, I was NOT a picky eater as a child.

3.  I was named by my Grandfather. He hated every name my mother had picked out. He chose Amy.

4. The furthest West I have been is Taylor Michigan. I went there for my first ever book signing at Another Look Books. It was a blast, but still pretty sad (as Brenda at EC said) that going to Michigan is the furthest West I had been. I’ll rectify that at Nationals this year!! :D

5. I am a HUGE fan of Star Trek. Love it. I am a Trekkie.

6. I have a Michael Jackson doll, that’s on it’s way to Anna J. Evans for a blog tour.

7. I’m a bit of a kook, but y’all knew that anyways.

Everyone and their mother has been tagged by now so I leave it up to whoever wants to play to play. :D
