Happy

Monday, March 31st, 2008

I am extremely happy today.  I’m just feeling great, it could be that it’s mild out and the mounds of snow are disappearing (haha take that sucker). I am also tres excited for my big trip to San Francisco and hanging with everyone; but also discovering the City.

I was talking to my cousin who is coming with me and she’s really excited too.

I also have passed over the halfway point of my newest WIP so I am uber excited about that. It was killing me there. My muse was absent and I was just struggling. I forced myself through the block and cracked it I think. I am also pleased with a witty remark I sneaked in.

Historical romances in the past have always been referred to as bodice rippers. Well, I had my hero take off her bodice in a rough fashion and during their teasing she gasps and says “You ripped my bodice!” :D

Ok that seemed a whole lot funnier late last night.

Sven has been tough going last week; but I am feeling much better and more on the mark.

I only wish I was at home so I could write. Alas I am not; but I am ok with that … the snow’s melting. :D

8 things that attract me to my best friends

1 - creative, artistic people. My friends inspire me. They write, make films, paint, take photographs, sing in operas, make quilts, act, dance and draw.
2 - lifelong students. My friends are usually taking some course or other, or just pursuing their craft, constantly refining it, discovering new ways of perfecting it.
3 - highly spiritual people. My friends come from different faith backgrounds, yet all seek to understand the sacred mysteries.
4 - compassionate people. My friends would stop and help a fallen runner in their own race.
5 - edgy, witty people. My friends share my dark sense of humor. Lots of zingers and laughs. Often at our own expense.
6 - intellectuals and total geeks. My friends and I walk the fine line. Luckily we’re very tolerant of each others’ quirks.
7 - movers and shakers. My friends are on political committees, run associations, start companies and then volunteer here and there and everywhere…. They make me tired…
8 - obsessive people. OCD doesn’t always have to count as a minus. I’d say most of my friends have some obsessive quality that helps them get their art out of their heads and into the world. I could use more of it, actually.

I had to steal Julia’s 8 reasons for best friends … cause I am the same way.

I tag whoever wants to play. If you do, let me know and I’ll visit.

I’m over at Sexy …

Friday, March 28th, 2008

I’m over at Six Degrees of Sexy. I’m interviewing new author Anya Delvay of Samhain Publishing and her new release NIGHT OF THE CEREUS.

She’s shy, so come out and give her love. :D Click here, come on you know you want to.

Don’t mind me, it’s way past my bed time. LOL! Totally pigging out on leftover Easter chocolate and on a mild sugar high. ;)

My excerpt for Masque of Desire is up at Night Owl Romance. You can listen to me, YES, me read an excerpt on line.

I want to thank Tammie King at Night Owl Romance for doing this. It was an awesome albeit, terrifying experience for a shy wall flower like me. :D

I hate the sound of my voice when it’s recorded. So if you’re interested in what I actually sound like, head on over to Night Owl Romance and give me a listen. Christine’s is up as well. Hehehehehe!

The Book Meme

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Finally getting to the book meme Julia tagged me for. Sorry Julia. :D

Anyways here are the Rules:

1. Grab book

2. Turn to page 123

3. And write down first 5 sentences.

Now I’ve read this book already, but I was re-reading for studying purposes. Studying this new cross genre and line.

Anyways Eve Kenin’s DRIVEN which is up for a Romantic Times Reviewers Choice award. WOOHOO. Here’s the link to buy it too

Did I also mention mines autographed. Neener neener!

Totally recommend it. Anyways, Page 123 the first Five lines:

The leader of the rebels took a step closer and peered into her eyes. “Sam’s girl?”

Sam’s girl. She hated that label. She was a person in her own right.

Holy Schmokes.

I reported to Sven this morning. I reported to him that I have hit 20,000 words with my current manuscript, which is number two since starting Sven. So I reported in today to Sven with 59,000 words in total, since March 1st.

HUH?????

I don’t even understand it either. Sixteen days since Sven started. 16 that’s it. I thought my record was 50,000 in 19 days with my 2006 NaNo, Fox’s Bride, which comes out on July 24, 2008 with Cerridwen Press.

59,000 words????

I’m in shock.

So I leave you with some Meatloaf. Have you seen this? Cause I think it’s absolutely fantastic! The more and more I look at it (and I know he’s been in musicals and is a theatrical rocker) he’d make a GREAT Phantom of the Opera. Please someone tell me he’s been a Phantom?? Please?

Somewhere between Daft Punk and Meatloaf

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

Hi all,

Housebound still with sick chillin’s. I’ve been cooking today though, making home made hummus (yummy) and other healthy alternatives from Weight Watchers. I am going to be a bridesmaid this year so I need to fit into the dress. LOL!

I find when I’m working at night on my manuscript I get freaking hungry so I made home made hummus and a Moroccan Red Bean Dip so I can snack on raw veggies and have a bit of different taste than the fattening ranch dressing.

I crossed 20k yesterday late last night. Still going strong, as for the title of my post … well I’ve been listening to a very eclectic music list. And that’s what it ranges from. It’s a strange place to be, between Daft Punk and Meatloaf. LOL!

I heard a robin today and the mounds of snow was melting and trickling down my drive. YES!!! It was sunny so I was happy and full of energy!

So I’ll stay between Daft Punk and Meatloaf … and be thankful I’m not still stuck in a cold November Rain. ;)
