Potpurri and 5 Stars … again!

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Ok, first be sure to visit me at J.K. Coi’s and Shelley Munro’s today. Where I am guest blogging. Please visit me, please, please, please.

Also I got another 5 Star Review for OH YUM! LOVE THY NEIGHBOR from The Romance Studio!! :D You can read it here. Again written by Dee Dailey. Dee, I want to kiss you. Seriously, you’ve been making my day lately!!!! :)

I preorder things, especially books. You think certain individuals would learn a lesson by now and do the same *cough cough Christine* *cough cough cough Wylie*, anyways I got LOVER ENSHRINED today by J.R. Ward. Phury’s story in all its 534 page glory. Guess what I’m doing this weekend.

All and all it’s been a strange day. Spammers confuse the heck out of me. Do they seriously think I’m going to post or approve their comments??? Seriously, the one I had today told me how much they loved my lasagna recipe and that it was very helpful.

Ummm, I buy my lasagna frozen and I don’t think I’ve ever posted my mother’s recipe here. I’ve also had someone mention to me in a spam comment something about my grandfather’s train collection and how it drove his, YES HIS pussy crazy. *insert cricket sound and queque tumbleweed*

I have one grandfather left and he doesn’t have a train collection. He’s too busy going to the mall to try to get the links fixed in his sausage (he meant to say watch to the woman, but had sausage on the brain at the time). Seriously spam dudes get a life.

I’m looking forward to putting my feet up and relaxing. Of course every time I say that … it doesn’t happen. NOPE, something is bound to go … OH right. Yep, I’m helping my Aunt move tomorrow. Curses.

Any big plans?

It’s Here, It’s Here!!

First Review!!!

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

I got my first review from The Romance Studio for Fox’s Bride, which is out this Thursday from Cerridwen Press. I got a 5 heart! WOOT.

Here’s what Dee Dailey had to say:

Excellent dialogue, details of history, romance, erotic love scenes, superb characterizations all add up to one great story by an author who knows how to spin a tale that I couldn’t put down.

Woot!!

You can read the full review here.

I’m very excited that the first review went over so well. I was apprehensive, well, I always am prior to book launch.

Still, I can’t wait until Thursday!!

Vote for Mois

Monday, May 26th, 2008

I’m in a contest at The Romance Studio.

I’ve made it to the 3rd round. :D

So I’m begging my internet friends to vote for me!! You can vote for me here.

Other than that how’s you’re day going?

It’s absolutely beautiful here today. About 76 for you Yankees. Today also my husband decided we’re getting a Wii. HOORAY!!! Mostly because I have a hard time getting to the gym and my membership is a waste. The gym is across town and I’m always so busy, so we’re getting Wii and Wii Fit. It’ll be me and the DH’s combined Christmas present, just we’re getting it earlier.

So that was my exciting news today. How about you? Anything new and exciting to report?

Red Dwarf

reddwarfcast.jpg

Whew, yesterday flew by. Flew right by. Releases, chats, and working on EDJ stuff.

In between the chaos and currently at the moment I am watching Red Dwarf.

At a really stressful time in my life. Before I was married, before kids, before I even met my DH my family was going through a rough patch. I was going to a great school to do Fashion Design, but it was expensive. I had to drop out and train quickly in a job that would make me more money than schleping groceries. I chose the career I’m in right now. The EDJ job, not the writing, just to clarify.

Anyways, what got me through these down times (because my family lived far away from all my friends out in the middle of nowhere) I watched a LOT of TV. This show, I don’t know, mad me laugh. So easy going, so relaxing. It put me at ease in times of trying times.

When Sumo was born and we thought he was going to die and I was realeased from the hospital; but with out my baby, I threw on Red Dwarf again and it calmed me. Made me smile (You got to love Danny John Jules as the fashionable Cat), gave me a bit of hope that Sumo would pull through and everything would be alright.

He did btw, he got an all clear this past year from the Heart Specialists, the hole and pulmonary tension is all gone. :)

I’m not dealing with the same problems I was eight years ago. I’m in a great place, but I forgotten how much I loved this show. I pulled out my tapes, popped them in and fell in love with these Smeg heads all over again.

I don’t know if this post has any kind of point, other than if you love Sci Fi and comedy … then you have Red Dwarf. I guess this is also my thank you to the cast and crew for brightening up a dark spot in my life a decade ago. :)

Do you have anything like this? Something that can take away your bad mood, your sadness?

Oh … YUM!

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Yep, it’s here. Release day. And I feel, I don’t know. It’s surreal because I’ve been waiting so LONG for this one to come out. I wrote is back in October of 2007. LOL! This Older woman, younger man series proves to be interesting.

Here’s a blurb about OH YUM! LOVE THY NEIGHBOR:

David Craig has been in love with the same woman for two years, a woman fifteen years his senior. He’s tried everything to forget her, even kept away from his parent’s home to avoid her. Now he’s back for his sister’s wedding and the woman he’s tried to forget is single

When her ex husband leaves her for a younger woman

Beverly finds herself, alone, forgotten and in a slump. That is until David Craig returns to town.

Seducing David Craig is just what she needed, she just never counted on the intensity of feelings she has for him, and he has for her.  Maybe there is truth to the old adage of Love Thy Neighbor.

I’m thrilled to be sharing my release day with fellow author and friend Karen Erickson. It’s fate that two books about neighbors get published on the same day. Well … maybe not fate.

OH YUM! TOO TEMPTING is available now as well.

Here’s the blurb: Caroline hasn’t seen Kevin Travers since he left for college four years ago. The boy she knew is now a gorgeous, intense man—and starring in her erotic fantasies. When Kevin admits a longtime attraction, Caroline can’t understand his interest in a woman twelve years his senior. But that doesn’t stop her from enjoying all his body has to offer.
Kevin is home for a few months before relocating for a dream job. Too bad it’s not hisdream. No, his dreams involve something closer to home—and one of them is Caroline Howard. The sexy divorcée considers him a summer fling…which gives him three months to convince her he’s more than just the boy next door.

I’m Southern Today

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

Come see me hang with the Chicas today! I’m talking about etymology. Muwahahaha.

Not Flu …

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Nope not Flu, but Salmonella poisoning. I have NO idea what I ate on Friday. Needless to say my kitchen has been ransacked and cleaned to within an inch of it’s life. Thankfully the kids and DH didn’t get it.

I’m feeling much better, but still queasy and not very hungry. LOL!

I am excited that in two days. TWO DAYS, OH YUM! LOVE THY NEIGHBOR releases. WOOT!! It’s also the release of Karen Erickson’s OH YUM, on the same days as me. :)

Also I am very excited to be blogging tomorrow at Southern Fried Chicas. :) The lovely Tanya invited me and I JUMPED at the chance. So tomorrow I would love to see familiar faces.

Next week also is the release of FOX’S BRIDE. My NaNoWriMo from 2006. I can’t believe that little inkling of a story I wrote on a yellow scrap piece of paper back in 2002 is finally almost here.

Anyways, off to catch up on stuff. I got nothing accomplished with my illness. Lots to do. I’m behind on so much. Thanks for the well wishes everyone. They were heard, appreciated, even if I was quiet all weekend. :)

Flu

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Ugh I’ve had a fever for two days now. Just absolutely and utterly sick.

Tomorrow is Victoria Day up here in Canada. Thankfully the medicine knocks me out so completely that I haven’t been woken up by the fireworks.

Anyways have a happy weeked everyone. To my American friends Happy Memorial Day. To my Canadian Friends Happy May 2-4 (aka Victoria Day) and everyone else … jus have a great day :)

See you as soon as I get rid of my shakes and fever.
