Fantastic Friday Releases!

Friday, February 27th, 2009

I’m honored to be sharing a release day with Shelley Munro!! Shelley’s book Leticia’s Lovers comes out today, as does my book Hard Candy.

Here’s the lovely, yummy blurb:

Middlemarch Mates, Book Seven.

Lion shifter Leticia Huntingdon has FIV, the feline version of AIDS. For months she’s been in remission, treated by Gavin Finley, the Middlemarch feline doctor. Now the disease has returned. Her feelings for Gavin can’t go anywhere because of the FIV, so it shouldn’t hurt when Gavin turns to Charlie, the new male cop.

Gavin can’t believe how good sex is with Charlie, can’t believe he’s found a mate. The loving is amazing and hot, but Gavin can’t forget Leticia. He wants her in his life. He wants Charlie too. Confusion and jealousy create torrid undercurrents for the trio.

Charlie McKenzie falls for Gavin quickly and can’t understand why he’s attracted to Leticia. A nightmare changes everything, drawing the three together and bringing new possibilities. A ménage a trois. Raw need and passion brings them closer. If only the disease threatening Leticia’s life didn’t loom on the horizon…

You can purchase it here.

Too Funny …

I received this in my email the other day. I couldn’t stop laughing.

It’s warm

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Scratch that, it’s mild out. Still, I can hear snow melting. It makes me feel a bit better today.

Have I mentioned that I am SOOOO ready for Spring? I was out picking up some groceries with my Mother today. I can’t go alone because I can’t lift bags, or Sumo because of my placenta previa. We were in a Walmart type of store, the kind that carries everything but it wasn’t Walmart, anyways I was browsing through the kids clothes and there was this little outfit that was a pair of cargo pants, an organe t-shirt and a jacket with Lightening McQueen on it. Sumo gasps, reaches out and touches the sleeve and says. “OH I like THAT!”

I almost peed myself laughing. He’s never shown any interest in clothes, and it was so funny the way he said it. My mom bought it for him because she thought it was so cute too, and frankly Sumo outgrows clothes so fast and or wears them out fast too.

I ended up buying myself PJs that are three times to big for me, but will be comfortable. My usually PJ’s umm don’t cover much, I usually just sleep in a short little t-shirt, and I don’t want to frighten my friends when we go away this weekend. My DH is a furnace, but I freeze when I’m away from him.

I am very much looking forward to this weekend. My last chance of freedom before little *J* is born. I plan to get a lot of writing done as I’m going away with writers.

How was your night?

How to Look Good …

Naked.

how_to_look_good_naked_uk-show.jpg

I caught this show last week for the first time on the W network. My DH was away for a few days, my computer was busted and I was channel surfing. It was meant to be. I love this show. I love the host, and I love how he makes women feel without having to have plastic surgery.

Here’s the official blurb of the show:

Learn to LOVE the way you look! Each episode puts one woman and her body-issue under the microscope. Instead of plastic surgery or fad-dieting options, our leading celebrity stylist gets to the core of her negative body-image by debunking the myth of perfection. With secrets from the world of fashion and beauty, his aim is to arm her with the confidence to show it off – both fully clothed and completely naked. A provocative anti-plastic surgery series for women, of every shape and size, which is truly revealing!

It airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m., and 10 p.m., and oh yeah I’m watching Gok tonight. After watching his show I felt confident, despite my beach ball esque appearance, and his choices of beauty products which he tests on his “naked testers” are really great. I’ve been writing them down. I actually tried one of the naked tester products the other day. Palmers Stretch Mark cream. Cause yeah, I gots them and yeah they’ve been fading after a weeks worth of using. Not totally, but it makes my belly soft. :)

And yeah that’s TMI, but tough. ;)

So, any show caught you off guard like this before? Whether it be good or bad.

Dithering

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

I just finished another grammar course. It’s for a Medical Transcription course I’m taking, so I can earn steady income typing from home. Huzzah. I think Grammar might actually be sinking in, I got 99% on my final exam. That would be nice.

Of course now I have a huge headache. I loathe Grammar. Now, it’s on to the next module of the course, Anatomy and Disease. Just learning the terms, don’t worry I’m not cutting anything open. I need to learn the terms so I can type out proper reports for Doctors.

I’ve been dithering lately on what I want to start next. See, I’ve had all these awesome requests, and my work has vastly improved, but still I worry. Where will I go, what if they don’t sell. What has been requested is so different from what I currently write. Then I wonder if they do sell, will that pin me down? Will I be happy there?

So many questions. I stupidly thought once you got published it became easier, you knew where you were going.

*snark*

Not at all.

I don’t think the preggo hormones help at all either, they just make me all the more uncertain of my direction somedays. I have so many ideas, it’s a matter of sitting down and getting through them. LOL.

Ever have a day like this? A dithering day.

Nesting

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Yeah, I’ve been going through that a bit lately. My belly button is on the verge of popping out *shudder* and I’ve been rifling through things. Since number 3 isn’t really going to have his own nursery it’s been harder to cope with. He’s bunking in with the DH and I until he’s a year old and can move into Sumo’s bedroom. Nudger and Sumo … oy I hope they’ll get along. I have this gut feeling they will. Sumo is very loving and he’s very excited to have a brother, especially since it means bunk beds.

I’ve been informed by Sumo that he get’s Lightning McQueen and little *J* can have Sheriff.  *shakes head*

Anyways, I went through our bedroom. I packed away all my skinny stuff in a box, and got rid of things. Like old makeup and beauty products which were almost used up, but then forgotten and just sat collecting dust. Part of my TBR pile was sitting next to my bed, nope that’s going downstairs to make room for the crib.

My DH came home after being away for three days and rubbed his eyes in disbelief at the minimalization of our bedroom. I even decluttered his dresser. WHICH drives me crazy. He’s a tech, so he dumps all his screws, and bits and bobs after a days work there. I organized them in little containers.

Today I’m really fighting the urge to sort through the baby clothes. I have a couple things I bought in my room. Every baby deserves a new sleeper, and it and two little hospital caps, two bibs and a stuff dog my Aunt already bought for him are on the chest at the end of my bed. Waiting.

But Sumo, he was a drooler. Oy. So I want to see what is salvagable from the babies clothes. My DH is hiding because he doesn’t want to pull out the box. I maybe slow but I’ll find him out. I did find the pair of Toronto Maple Leaf Booties someone gave me that Sumo wore all the time. I can’t beleive he was ever that small to fit into them.

Oy, I hope this nesting passes before I go away for a weekend with some girlfriends.

Brain Mush

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

It’s what I got. Seriously, my brain is fried. I was talking to my editor on Instant Message and I said that book 3 killed me, my hero was too scarred. She replies “I’ve gathered that.” LOL.

He killed me. Cedric was the most scarred I’ve ever made a hero. Everything bad you can do to a guy, I did it … well except neuter him because then we don’t have a story. LOL.

So I apologize for my lack of zest lately … because as I say. Brain is mush.

Friend’s Again?

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Dubya or W ignored us up here in the frozen North. In fact I don’t think he ever visited in his 8 years in office.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a renewed friendship between our two nations, I hope so, but even if it wasn’t I still love all my Yankee friends to bits. That will never change!! Sorry guys, you have this Canadian as a friend for life.

A Review and other Miscellaney

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Don’t know if I spelled miscellaney right. Oh well. LOL.

So Julia, my twin sister (well not really but it feels like it) out East in Atlantic Canada did a fantabulous review of Enchantress The Fey for me. *squee* Actually, I like sending her my books because we have similar tastes, I know I’m on the right track if she likes them. :)

You can read the review here.

Also my DH has been away for 3 days. I’ve missed him terribly. I have a hard time sleeping when he’s gone, not to mention little *J* (Yeah we’ve decided on a name for nudger) doing acrobats all night.

Last night I watched the Lost Underground Cities Show. Last time I watched it was London and then the show after was Mysteries of the British Museum. This time it was Moscow (FREAKING COOL) and then the Mysteries of the Museum’s surrounding The Red Square in Moscow. Gave me lots of (as Margaret Moore says) Story Seedlings. The Seedlings will have to go on the back burner though, my plate is full.

One thing I realized, if only people had of listened to Ivan the Terrible about his beloved Anastasia being poisoned, I don’t think he would have gone bonkers. That was on the museum show, they tested her corpse, there was mercury in there and oh yeah … she was poisoned.

Anyways, those two shows just made me want to go to Russia even more.

When it rains it pours

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

My neck of the woods is in a severe rain warning. It’s supposed to rain for 8-12 hours straight, and we’re supposed to get 25 mm. I’m not in a flood area, my parents are, but not me. So if they call to evacuate then my mother and father and their dog Snoopy will be guests. LOL. Of course, it’s not raining at the moment, it’s snowing so I don’t know what to believe.

So the fates must have decided I had too much good luck. Kidlet number 1 got sick … again, then as I was making progress on edits BAM my lap top charger DIED. *sniff* My DH was away last night, so I was going to work from 7 p.m., to like 10 p.m., in peace and quiet. NOPE, didn’t happen. Computer was shut off at 7 p.m., WAH!!

I ended up watching (Couldn’t watch the Leafs sorry RJ) How to Look Good Naked. What a freaking awesome show. The first show Style by Jury was Okay, but I love Gok Wan on How to Look Good Naked. It’s a British Show, but damn, talk about making you feel good about yourself no matter what size you are. It rocked. He was talking about a woman who hid under frumpy clothes because of her Large Breasts, and he made her feel good about them and showed her how to dress. I was in shock. I have the large breasticles … especially now so I was impressed.

Today I’m playing catch up, barring no unforseen complications I hopefully won’t have another mishap because, seriously fates, I’ve had enough.

OH and tomorrow the lovely Julia is doing a review of Enchantress The Fey. :)
