Obsessed with new show

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

I’ve been watching a lot of OLN, because I watch Dog The Bounty Hunter and I don’t get A&E. Don’t get me started on my rant. Anyways, I caught Mantracker yesterday.

I kept seeing commercials for this Canadian reality show.

I wished I had watched it sooner. Wow, very cool. Terry Grant is Mantracker, he worked with Alberta Search and Rescue. He’s this rough, cowboy and he tracks humans through the wilderness. He doesn’t meet his prey, he doesn’t know where the finish line is. The “prey” are given a simple map and compass, a flare starts the race. The “prey” are given a lead, and it’s up to Mantracker to physically catch them, his guide, bar the prey’s path to the goal, or the “prey” can get caught by time elapsing. Did I mention they only have 36 hours?

If you get a chance, catch this show. I’m absolutely impressed by the way this man can see things, like just a simple turn of a leaf to know where the “prey” is.

It’s fascinating. Absolutely fascinating. *sigh* Yet another show I have to watch. ;)

Sneak Peak

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Would you like a sneak peak of what I’m working on?

It has something to do with this video here. I’m sure I’ve peaked Julia’s interest.

Have I caught your attention? *insert evil grin*

Friday Funny

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Yeah, I’m back in my writer cave like Gollum working on my next “PRECIOUS” so I’ll leave you with a Strongbad video.

My brother and cousin introduced me to these cartoons and they freaking crack me up. Especially Strongbad the mexican wrestler.

The only difference is …

A couple of pounds. The bump is 3 weeks old and I’ve now know who he looks like, he is the mini me version of Sumo. Only Sumo was a lot chubbier.

Here’s a picture of Sumo at 3 weeks of age:

NOW here’s a picture of the bump at approximately 3 weeks of age:

The only difference is Sumo is a lot chubbier. It’s kind of freaky, they have the same hairline, same color eyes, same color of hair at the time. I’m expecting the bump’s to fall out and turn blonde like his brothers.

Their differences. Sumo drooled like crazy. Could never keep a shirt dry and he had no body hair. The bump, farts like crazy. Like old man farting and has a lot of body hair … blonde and black. He’s like a little monkey man.

All and all I’m happy and I’m can’t believe he’s 3 weeks today. Next Sunday he’ll  be a month. A MONTH!

Where does the time go?

Not going to conference?

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Then the Not Going to Conference, Conference is for you!

It’s running now over at Romance Divas. Today there’s an excellent workshop about the Perils of Historical Research, which I know is a daunting subject for most. I do it and it’s still pretty daunting for me too! ;)

The great thing about Romance Divas is it’s a FREE forum.

Here’s the link if you’re interested.

It’s hot here today, or at least I feel the heat. I’ve been feeling great these last couple of days so I’m hoping my DH will get home early tonight and we can take the bump for his first official stroller ride to the park. The park is more for his brother and sister mind you, but I wouldn’t mind getting out of my prison …. err home for a while. LOL! Yeah, you can’t tell I was on bedrest for most of my pregnancy and trapped within a 5 mile radius of my house for over six months eh? Hehehe.

July … please don’t go

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Can you believe it’s the middle of July. Friends of mine are flying out to DC for RWA Nationals. Stinkers. (Sorry that’s my bitterness talking about not being able to go LOL!). Summer seems to be flying by. Ok, ummm NO!

Summer I’m not ready for you to go yet. Yet I was reminded about how fleeting summer can be, my daughter got invited to a birthday party and the date on the card made me do a double take.

No July please don’t go, I’m not ready for fall.  I’m also not ready to face the prospect of the baby formerly known as the bump to be turning 1 month old. No, no, no. Plus a deadline for a story I have been working on is July 31st, and because it’s been a while since I’ve been in the writing saddle I don’t feel confident that it’s ready. Though I have fabulous people to read it over and tell me whether or not it’s ready.

So is it just me or is this year just flying by? Have you done anything interesting this summer yet?

I’m over at Leah Braemel’s today, and I’m giving away a free copy of an e-book. Winner’s choice from my backlist.

Head on over and comment. :)

It’s my first attempt at witty since giving birth, so be gentle. :P

Update

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

I’ve been making the rounds, but for that first week the bump was on antibiotics I spent A LOT of time at the hospital. He’s home now, and I’m tired. LOL! ;)

But the brain for the most part is functioning again, if a little sleep deprived. It’s been hard trying to get him off the hospital schedule and on to ours, being that he sleeps more at night and not all day long. We had a better night last night, and I’m slowly getting back into my old work schedule. :)

The Bump has landed

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Yes, I’m back and my writing brain has returned. Amazing what shedding some 30 pounds of fluid and baby can do to a person.

The bump, aka James, landed on Friday June 26th at 1:29 p.m., weighing 10.5lbs and 21.5 inches long. Yes, my smallest child. Boo being 10.9 lbs and Sumo being 11.5lbs. After all the high risk, and talk of him coming early he stuck it out until the planned section date. Our surgery was bumped by an hour because everyone in the city seemed to go into labor because of a freak heat wave. Surgery this time went good, except my DH fainted while they were putting my IV in. Which scared me because the room they were prepping me in was so small and he’s very tall and fell into a dresser. He’s okay, it was just his pride was stung after the nurses got him into a wheel chair and fed him gingerale and a sandwhich. My OB still states males are the inferior sex. She got in a lot of good ribbing. LOL!

I had a rough go, lost a  lot of blood and ended up spending an extra day in the hospital. Also means no more bumps for me, but that’s fine. James swallowed a little too much fluid on his way out, so he’s in the hospital until next Monday. They have him on antibiotics as a preventitive measure since they removed all the fluid from his lungs. But he’s a champ. I thought on Saturday he was going to go the same way as Sumo and spend his first month in the PCCU. Nope, nothing wrong with his heart and once the fluid came out he let me know his lungs are strong. :)

So I’m managing fine, sore and on painkillers but doing good. Thankfully the hospital is 5 mins away so I can see him everyday until I can bring him home. My first night home, after the other two were in bed, was spent reading contest entries and writing. :D It’s good to have my focus back.

I’ve missed you all, and I’ll be playing catch up for a week, but I’m back to my old self again and it feels great.
